Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin’s grandson dies at age 2 of ‘natural causes’

grandson of Milwaukee Bucks Head coach Adrian Griffin died over the weekend after being found unresponsive at the family’s home in Illinois.

He was only 2 years old.

In a statement provided by The boxes, Griffin called the untimely death of her grandson Jess Griffin a “tragic tragedy.” According to multiple reports, she was found by her father on Saturday morning.

“My grandson Jess was very special to me and my family, and his passing is a painful tragedy that will always be felt,” Griffin’s statement said.

“I appreciate your family’s grieving and respecting their privacy at this time.”

According to Champaign County Coroner’s Office, Jayce was pronounced dead at Carl Foundation Hospital at 10:40 a.m. Saturday. Preliminary autopsy reports conducted Monday found no evidence of trauma or foul play.

“At this time, Jayce Griffin’s death appears to be natural causes pending additional testing and final autopsy results,” Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said in a statement obtained by The Associated Press.

Jayce’s mother, Jasmine Riggs, told WDJT that her son had been dealing with a respiratory infection in the days leading up to his death, but described him as “happy and healthy” after taking him to the doctor.

She told the outlet that Jess was under the care of her father, Alan Griffin, at the time of her death.
