Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Privatization recommended that the Islamabad Convention Center be removed from the privatization list.
The Senate Standing Committee met under the chairmanship of Senator Shamim Afridi, and the progress of the privatization program and the transactions completed were reviewed in the committee meeting.
The head of the Community Development Authority said that the Community Development Authority is afraid of demolishing the building and turning it into a concrete forest, and this step would violate the internal regulations of the Community Development Authority.
Privatization Secretary, Dr. Eram said that since 1991 178 privatization deals have been completed and 649 billion rupees have been obtained from the privatization program so far.
It was briefed at the meeting that the enterprises sold since 1991 include banking, energy, telecom, cement, automobile, capital market, textile, real estate and so on.
