Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has removed the police clearance requirement for Indians seeking a visa.
According to Arab media, the Saudi embassy in New Delhi said in a tweet on Twitter that, given the strong relationship and strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and India, it had decided to exempt Indian citizens from submitting police clearance certificates.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the police permit requirement has been abolished to facilitate speedy processing of visa applications by Indian nationals, and easier management by tourism and leisure companies for travelers.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs added in its statement that this decision comes as a continuation of efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.
On the other hand, N. Ram Prasad, an Indian embassy official in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, told Arab News that two million Indian citizens would benefit from it. We are very pleased with this initiative, which will strengthen our bilateral relations and strategic partnership.
