Sydney: Cairns Diner restaurants in the UK and Australia proudly admit that the waiters they work with are rude and get paid to be rude to their customers.
Cairns Diner has made this rudeness of waiters and waitresses his motto “Great Food, Awesome Service”.
The slogan indicates that for a job at Cairns Diner, the waiter has to be rude.
Despite being proud of the rudeness of the brewer, the Cairns Diner business is thriving.
He opened his first restaurant in Sydney in October 2021, and his restaurant in Brisbane will start operating by April of this year. Their third restaurant will open in Melbourne later this year.
In addition to Australia, Cairns Diner will be launching in the British city of Sheffield this month, while a second British restaurant for them is soon expected to launch in Manchester.
According to the management of Cairns Diner, by the end of next year, the company will open ten restaurants in different countries. These American cities include Los Angeles and New York.
A local woman who was having lunch at Cairns Diner in Sydney told the local newspaper that waiters were yelling at customers and putting menus on their desks.
Not only that, he was making fun of customers’ hair and clothes meaninglessly.
If a customer asks a question by mistake, the waiter starts saying bad things to him and even mistreating them.
This strange but ugly restaurant is the brainchild of Eden Lyon, who is also the director of a tech company called Viral Ventures.
“I wanted to make the restaurant a place where you can say whatever you want, and enjoy anything you can do freely, except food.”
In other words, not only the bartenders are allowed to be rude in this restaurant but also the customers are completely free to be rude.
