A judge on Wednesday denied former President Donald Trump’s request to transfer his criminal case from New York state court to federal court for allegedly falsifying records related to a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormi Daniels.

The federal judge’s decision puts Trump on track for a March 25 trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Trump was indicted in March on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

The records falsified the cause of payments made by Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, to his then-personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. Trump attributed the money to legal services when in fact Cohen was to be reimbursed for a $130,000 payment to Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

Months after Melania Trump gave birth to her son, Barron Trump, Cohen paid Daniels to keep quiet about her claims of having sex with Trump a decade earlier. The former president denied having sex with Daniels.

Trump has pleaded not guilty in this case.
